Red German Angora Cross Doe

Storybook Brigitta, Fawn Doe . Brigitta has been a fine mother and is the granddam of many of my fine red German crosses. I am very pleased with her for many reasons. She has a beautiful gentle temperament, she has very respectable density for a cross, and she has a beautifully clear red color with no smut.

Yarn from my bunnies. This is what it is all about. My goal has always
been to produce the best yarn I possibly could. I want my bunnies
happy and healthy, but ribbons and awards mean nothing if my yarn
is not superior to anything I could buy elsewhere. It is why I had
to forsake pure German angoras because I was not getting the type
of yarn that I would treasure myself. It was OK, but OK isn't good
enough!

Sommer, One of the babies pictured with Liesl, her mother on the first page. Sommer was a very big girl at 11 lbs and she is out of 100% old lines. I've recently crossed one of her offspring with my red lines and I hope to put her size and density onto some awesome reds! Not only that but Sommer also was a very gentle and sweet doe, getting along well with other does.

Babies born 2 years ago. the lilac tort boy in the foreground
proved to be a heavy wool producer, with a much redder coat than
most torts, which are normally almond colored. He is an English/German
cross and if I do breed more litters, I will certainly use him as he has

was invaluable in bringing the quality of my reds up.

Red German Angora Cross Doe

D'Lynn Red doe. Born Jan, 2006. I have other reds from this litter and there

should be babies from them in the spring of 2007.

Rooke's Torchy and D'Lynn Fredricka

Another shot of Sommer. She was an "old line" German.
Sommer was the mother of Abby, and I wish I had more like her!
I intend to go back to the older US lines when the current rabbit
lines have all been placed. They were great woolers, and
completely care free, something I cannot say for the new imports.

D'Lynn Abigail, ½ new import 13 lbs

Abby was a very nice German rabbit, who would have easily registered had I had time to take her for the shearings. Abby died shortly after having her only viable litter. She gave me a great little English cross buck, Abner. She is missed.

This doe is one of the 2 orphans that I saved in 2007.
She was small the day I sold her, but a very very good wooler with a silky soft coat, more like English than German. I did sell her
& often wondered if I should have.

More pictures to come as I work my way through the rabbitry clipping this week!

Chestnut & REW German Angoras

I've always loved this picture of Fredricka (Chestnut) and Sommer. It kind of shows what sweet, docile girls they are.

Good temperament is standard for the German Angora, but these 2 girls are particularly so.
