Day 10

The puny baby died, and I decided to let the chestnut one go too. He had been eating poorly, and it was taking forever to feed him, so I decided to let him pass on to the next world. I have 4 babies left now. All are eating well, have pefected the "turbosuck" emptying their allotment of 4 cc's very fast indeed now. It takes a little while of prodding, but once they latch on and start to suck, they empty the syringe in short order. I can tell when they are doing themselves, as bubbles seem to appear in the tube of the syringe.

I had to get more formula, so I got both puppy and kitten canned milk replacement, and I've mixed them. The kits seem to lose ground with puppy formula alone.

The brown one opened her eyes today, I think the othes are not far behind.

Pamela Alley sent me some information, but she asked me not to post it anywhere. However, I found this link, which seems to be the same information. The bad news is that Lacto-Pet is no longer manufactured, and Critical Care is only available through the vet.

Here is the link to that info : http://islandgems.net/handfeeding.html
