Day :35

The babies are growing. They are consuming much more formula now, One of the kitten bottles is filled completely with a dilution of the puppy formula. I've been adding about 1 drop of Albon to it. While the gas and bloat have not gone away, it has helped, I believe. In fact, I often wonder now if it isn't just a big hay belly on them instead of the bloat I'm so worried about. I need to get another bottle of Snapple Iced Tea with Lemon (regular). I believe it helps keep the GI tract moving along too (Thanks for that tip, Pamela)

I have goat's milk available as soon as I can get up to my brother's home. His goats have given birth and they are milking again.

The babies are still not eating pellets well, but they ARE drinking water now. Yay! Like typical babies this age, though, they like to sit in the pellet bowl and pee. :( Ruins them

Here are some suggestions I've received at this point:

******************************************************

Try switching them to goats milk; it has a closer profile to momma's milk than most replacers (which are very sweet). Dilution won't hurt anything either.

Stick with parsley and berry tips (the green young leaves and stem or mature leaves) and MATURE grasses for the greens portion.

They won't touch the wetted pellets? Soak 'em longer and start mixing them into the formula. *evil grin*...they need that nutrition and fiber!

Keep working with them and have patience...they will eat 'real' food eventually!

Maybe try a different pellet?
